New Post: Has anyone been able to get DemoMap.exe working in Version 1.7

Downloaded the full source from Codeplex, recompiled it, set DemoMap as the startup project, ran the demo. Clicked on New and get error because _applicationManager.Map is null. Restarted demo and clicked Open and same problem.

Also when rebuilding the source I get exceptions regarding Menubar plugins as follows:
Unable to read the project file 'DotSpatial.Plugins.MenuBar.csproj' and when I look under the trunk folder, sure enough, the file specified
'...\DotSpatial 1.7\Trunk\DotSpatial.Plugins.MenuBar\DotSpatial.Plugins.MenuBar.csproj'
cannot be found.

So my questions are:

1. Where do I get the MenuBar plugins from,
2. Does the DemoMap actually work - I was planning, as a lot of people do, to use it as a learning tool to see how the library works.
   

I appreciate any help on this, as I see from the comments that a lot of people are using DotSpatial, so I assume I must be doing something wrong.
